Normand Robert Mailhot

MAILHOT, Normand Robert, with great sadness the family announces his sudden and peaceful passing at home with his wife by his side on Thursday May 5, 2022 at the age of 79. Left to mourn are his wife of 55 years, Suzanne (née St. André) and his beautiful children, Joëlle Régnier (née Mailhot) and Richard (Jessica Leroux) Mailhot.

Adored grandfather of Kassia, Danika, Micha Régnier, Lucas, Adam and Hugo Mailhot. Loved brother of Madeleine of Ottawa, Yvon of Victoria, Rachel (Michel Monette) of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, and Marcel (Hélène Poulain) of Ottawa.

Treasured son-in-law of Mrs. Berthe St. André (late Philippe). Cherished brother-in-law of Louise (François) Bédard of L’Orignal, Denise (Francis Lavoie) St. André of Gatineau, Madeleine (Alain) Fraser of L’Orignal, and Hélène (Serge Labre) St. André of Rigaud. He is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Euclide and Jeanne (née Forget) Mailhot, his sister Claudette, his brother Raymond (Fernande) of St. Albert, and his brother-in-law Guy (Marthe) Dallaire.

Normand was proud to be a Sergeant with the O.P.P. for nearly 30 years working with the Hawkesbury O.P.P. Detachment and acting Police Chief in Alexandria, ON, retiring his career in Long Sault, ON. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in the forest with his Timberjack, playing cards, and spending time with his beloved dogs Chopper, Shep, Miki, and Jay.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at Sainte-Thérèse-de-Lisieux, 1304 Lisieux Street, Cornwall, ON. A private visitation will be held at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes for family. Arrangements under the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West.
