Ovielda Joseph Fortier

FORTIER, Ovielda Joseph – Peacefully with his family at his side at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Sunday May 21, 2017. He was 87. He leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Beatrice Pearl (Kennedy) Fortier. Cherished father of Carol Lalonde (late Michael Lucas), Lynn Compeau (John Rhyndress), Michael Fortier (Carmen), John Bill Fortier (Sharon), Deborah Belmore (Allan), Melodie Coulas (David) and Todd Fortier. Sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Martha Caroline Fortier, one brother, Anthony, 3 sisters, Albina, Elsie, Luva and one daughter Suzanne (in infancy). Mr. Fortier was a retired Civil Engineer, that travelled extensively. His many interests included painting, fishing and hunting and archery. He was an avid camper and loved the outdoors that was very evident in his passion for flowers. His gentle nature was confirmed by friendships he developed with the squirrels, since they would eat out of his hand. At Mr. Fortier’s request, No Visitation of Funeral Service.
