

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard "Harry" Bowman, a cherished, hard-working, devoted, and kind-hearted man, who passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the age of 89 at Carefor Hospice. Born on May 28, 1936, Harry was a long-time resident of Cornwall, Ontario.
Harry was a devoted employee of Domtar for many years. He was a beloved husband to the late Beverley Ann (née James) and a cherished father to Margaret Coleman (late Myles) and Sandra Shayne (late Kerry), both residing in Cornwall. He was a proud grandfather to Bryan Leger (Shayna) and Justin Leger (Amanda), also of Cornwall. Harry was a special uncle to Fred Bowman and Kevin Bowman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the dear son of the late Richard John Bowman and the late Margaret (née Worsfold) Bowman. He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond (Joan), Claire (late Lois), Keith (Judy), Stewart (late Gloria), and Douglas (late Ella).
Harry was an avid fisherman, enjoying even ice fishing. His commitment to his community was evident through his membership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, downstairs Hall, located at 205 Amelia Street, Cornwall, Ontario, on December 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Yu, Dr. Poilly, Dr. Bergeron, and the staff of Carefor Hospice and the Cornwall Community Hospital for their support and care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home West Branch (613-932-8482).
