Vera Elizabeth Jones-Opel

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Jones Opel (neé Siversten) of Lancaster Heights, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Tordis and Jack Sivertsen of Ankenes, Norway. Born June 22, 1941, Vera was the loving wife of Hans Opel, cherished mother of Anna-Lisa Jones-Kanner and stepmother of Katja Ramirez. She will be missed by her granddaughter Celya Dacosta of Ottawa, step granddaughter Sofia and step grandson Pablo of Austin, Texas. Vera was born in Ankenes, Norway and will also be missed by her brother Trond Sivertsen, Moy Greger Sivertsen, Andre, Lene (Luca)Matteo, Marcus, Helene and by all her wonderful relatives and dear friends in Norway and Canada. Vera’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be forever missed. A service will be held in Hakvik, Norway at a later date.
