Ann spent her childhood being raised by her single mother, Lois Bracy, and her two older sisters, Barbara and Nancy. Her Grandma Kyte, who lived next door, was also a loving part of her childhood.
Ann attended State Street Elementary, Gage Junior High, and Huntington Park High School.
She attended East Los Angeles City College, and later transferred to Long Beach State College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Communication.
During high school, at the young age of 15, Ann met her future husband Greg at a Methodist Youth breakfast. They both soon fell in love and were engaged to be married in 1960.
Ann and Greg were married on August 26, 1962. They just celebrated their 63rd anniversary this year!
Ann and Greg welcomed their first child, Michael Lyn, on October 28, 1963, and then along came Nancy Eileen, 2 1/2 years later, on April 28, 1966. Her sister Nancy continued to be a close and special person to the family. Later, Ann and Greg were blessed with 3 beautiful granddaughters, Megan, Emily, and Kaity, and recently 2 great-granddaughters (born to Megan and Parth), named Arya and Ahya.
Ann and Greg have had many homes over the years. Their first and second homes were in Downey, Ca. They moved to a new home in La Palma where they spent the next 14 years. Fullerton would be the next city in which they had 2 beautiful homes over the next 10 years. A big change came in 1997 when they relocated to Balboa Island. They designed and built their dream home on the waterfront on Balboa Island in 2002.
Ann’s first and foremost vocation was a wife to Greg and mother to Mike and Nancy. She spent many years as a pre-school teacher and was very involved in service and charity work with St. Jude Hospital. In later years, Ann was very involved in Assistance League, and an organization called, “Women of Vision”, where she became a leader in fighting the scourge of human trafficking.
Ann was a person of deep faith and was very involved in many Bible Study groups over the years. Ann’s other hobbies included cooking, reading, and traveling with family and wonderful friends. She and Greg visited many wonderful places around the world over the years.
During her life, Ann faced a number of serious health challenges. Ann called upon her trust in The Lord and faced them all with tremendous strength and bravery all the way to the end of her life.
Ann will be dearly missed by Her husband Greg, and the entire family.
We will all love you Forever!
