Betty passed away peacefully in Newport Beach, California. She was born in Selma, California but moved to Los Angeles as a teenager where she attended Fairfax High. It was in the summer of 1938 that she met the love of her life, Bill Schock. They were married for 50 years at the time of his death in 1991. During their time together, they began successful marine businesses which continue today in Newport Beach, Schock Boats, and in Corona, W.D. Schock Corp.
She is survived by 3 sons, Thomas (Jane), Scott (Marie) and Steven (Ruth); 6 grandchildren, David, Anne (Steve) Schupak, Elizabeth (Bill) Butchart, Brian, Catherine and Allison; and 2 great-grandchildren, Riley and Nolan Schupak.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Pacific View Mortuary Chapel with a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Pacific View Memorial Park.
Donations may be made in her name to the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum.
