

Bob was born on December 31, 1932, in Hoyt, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph and Sylvia Buckner. Bob graduated from Stigler High School, Class of 1950. Following high school graduation, Bob moved to Oregon and worked with his older brother, Leon as a commercial fisherman. In 1953, he joined the Air Force as a Diesel Mechanic and served his country for four years. After leaving the service, Bob began his career working in the construction industry and over the years worked on projects such as the California Aqueduct and Castaic Lake. Toward the end of his career, he took a position with the Irvine Company as the Superintendent of projects involving the building of Tustin Ranch and Pelican Hills golf courses. After his retirement, he continued to enjoy his time with his love of fishing and golf. He was also an active volunteer at Palisades United Methodist Church.
Bob is survived by his wife Barbara, his six children Jody Landon, Joe Buckner, Sylvia Woznichak, Bob Buckner, Scott Phillips and Charlie Phillips, in addition to his 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Graveside services are being held Friday, February 4th at 2:30 P.M. at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary in Corona Del Mar, Ca.
