The Foster family has many, many loving memories of Bobbie. Of course, anyone who knew Bobbie knew that she cherished friends and family, a strong common value amongst her family members.  She truly loved her family. 

Bobbie always had a welcoming smile and twinkling eyes.  Her laughter was contagious. You could feel her love when she was around her family, especially her daughter Lynette, her grandson, Travis, and her great-grandchild as well as the rest of her family. 

There was a special bond between Bobbie and Shelia.  This undoubtably started when they were very young.  Through the challenging times and good times, the sisters were 
together. Loyal. Loving. Supportive. Spent so much time together. Had one of the best sister relationships that I have ever observed. 

Family vacations were a part of the Thompson family routine, and it was so much fun to spend time with them, including Bobbie.

Bobbie will be missed.

Bobbie Jo:  
I will never forget the many fun times and the laughter that we shared.  You  were such a good and faithful friend who was always there for me and more than ready to join me on an adventure or to cry on each others’ shoulders when life wasn’t treating us well.   Many of the best times in my life were shared with you…….the ski trips with all of the kids (including the trips where there were about 20 of us piled into your motorhome, the shaving cream fights, etc.); the times we went out in search of “a few good men” and came home empty handed, but laughing about all of our antics; the singles cruise we went on (that was a blast); the shopping trips; and on and on.  You had a knack for making everyone laugh by making snarky remarks that would crack everyone up.  Must importantly, your love for your family and friends always shown through, and you held those you loved close and protected them through thick and thin.

I was so fortunate to have you in my life for 52 years and I will be so happy to hug you again, dear friend, when I join you in heaven.  Rest well pretty lady and be ready for more antics when I get there!

I saw a quote that said..
"what if everytime you think of them its because they're telling a story about a you in heaven " and that made me smile.  Bobbie (and Lynnette) have lots of stories about me. And that is a good thing because I think about them and miss them everyday.
 I became best friends with Lynnette when I was 11 years old. We were inseparable.  Lynnette and Bobbie were literally my saving grace growing up. Bobbie was so strong, protective, loving and loyal. You know how there is always that one house in the neighborhood where all the kids want to hang out? That was Bobbie's house!  She has been such an important part of my life for 50 years. Lynnette, Bobbie and her whole family are a big part of my life story.  Although my heart is so sad, it is a comfort to me that Bobbie knew...she knew how important she was to me and how much I love her.

We always admired what a close and supportive bond Bobbie and Shelia enjoyed over the years we knew Bobbie. Her special relationship with her grandson and his family gave her such comfort and joy. We know Shelia and Ron will miss all they shared with Bobbie as a neighbor.

When we moved to California, you & Shiela made sure we had a place to go on holidays & days in between.  You & Shiela were a pair, not just sisters but partners in crime & tragedy.  A true sister love story.  Bobbie always had a smile & a twinkle in her eyes.  You never knew what she might come up with & was always fun to be with.  Bobbie will be missed by her family, friends, neighbors & all the people whose heart she touched.  May you rest in peace.

When I think of Bobbie I will never forget her welcoming smile, and it was followed by a warm embrace. I always looked for her at parties, showers, family  gatherings, and football games. I loved finding her and chatting with her. The bond between sisters is unbreakable and filled with love and everlasting memories. There is no better friend than a sister. Find peace and comfort in her lasting bright light and your eternal connection. Sending all of you who knew and loved Bobbie love and prayers.

Bobbi was a special sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Shelia had a rare sisterly bond that I have always admired. Bobbi was a partner in so much of what Shelia and her family did, always supportive, protective, and loving. There were so many humorous moments, sprinkled with reality and loss; but you held your head high through it all!  I have heard stories of Shelia and Bobbi’s youth that are legendary. They could communicate without speaking, and I feel blessed to have witnessed  some of those times. Bobbi was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to the end, always proud of them and cherishing them so deeply.  Bobbi, I pray for your eternal rest as you have joined your precious Lynette. The love and respect Bobbie always showed to her family and friends will always be remembered. Bobbie was truly a gift to all those she cared about. She will be missed.

Bobbie you didn’t know a stranger and welcomed our family in as your own. Thank you for all the holidays spent together and the love you gave unconditionally. You will be missed by all!

Hi Nonnie it’s Aidan I wanted to say how much I love you and that I miss you every single day. I was so proud of how much you fought that damn cancer. You were so strong every single day and we all wish you were still here with us. Thank you for always helping out with taking care of me after school and for all the memories we shared. All the Mac and cheese we made together and all the times you taking me to water polo practice i absolutely loved it all. I know you will always watch over me and protect me and always be with me. I appreciate everything you did for me and my mom I love you Nonnie.

Bobbie, was the sweetest lady with the most beautiful smile! Bobbie was gracious and always made others feel welcome! Bobbie had a humble heart and was a gift to everyone who knew her!

I want to share a memory of Bobbi that shows exactly who she was.

Bobbi had front row seats to Ron’s horses and their daily lives. She was not a horse person, but she cared. She noticed everything, and if something did not seem right, she would call, simply because she wanted to make sure everyone was okay.

One evening, Ron had bought a new horse at a sale, and somehow that horse arrived home before Ron did. It was already dark, the horse was excited and unsettled, and Bobbi was worried, so she called me. After I checked on him and started to leave, in a split second he jumped the retaining wall and was suddenly loose, out in the open. 

I had him cornered but had absolutely nothing to catch him with, and no way to leave him. In that moment, Bobbi found her courage, even though horses made her nervous, she grabbed a halter and managed to get it to me through all the chaos. Because of Bobbi, we were able to get him safely back into the paddock.

What stays with me is not the horse, but her. Her concern, her bravery, her heart. She stepped forward when it truly mattered most.

That was Bobbi. Warm, caring, and quietly strong. She will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.

Bobbie Jo… A beautiful soul! I met Bobbie  through Shelia, and she embodied such kindness and light. She handled adversity with grace, and she was a wonderful role model. Bobbie loved her family deeply, and her positive energy made the world a better place. I will always think of her on her birthday as my brother Bobby Joe also was born on January 16. I’m so very sorry for the loss, and I know she will be missed terribly. My heart is with you!!!

My Dearest Sister, Bobbie…
   We have always been a pair, one with the other. Now that you’re gone, a part of me has vanished, too. With this feeling of emptiness, I have one comforting thought.  It can never be possible that we aren’t together, no matter what the future time or space, we’ll find each other. On gloomy days when storms are brewing,, I’ll be the light to your shadow. As butterflies we’ll light together upon the same beautiful flower.  As bunnies, we’ll be nestled side by side  in the tall, green grass. And, in heaven, we’ll still be holding hands.

I will always remember Bobbie. She came to all the high school activities with Shelia  She always helped us with a big smile & she even wore her nephews letterman jacket to football games. She shared a very precious part of our lives & she enjoyed all of our children
