Cameron was a brilliant creative, who needed a custom-tailored education that our system does not provide. May his death remind us to invest in cultivating the talents of individuals, so that not only they, but also humanity can finally flourish.

Your generous big heart and sweet loving soul will take you all the way to Heaven and is what I miss most.  Thank you for making me family Cam.  Its been a blessing  having you near me in North Carolina,    Your empty seat at the Thanksgiving table will be a painful reminder of our huge loss, yet a  sweet reminder of wonderful memories we made when we had you here.   Godspeed Cammeron .  Until we meet again I will help to protect your girls and will remember you,  love you and miss you.

My nephew, Cameron Cody Leva, lived with me in Europe for a time. We shared many talks. He was a highly sensitive creative, who made amazing art works - two of them, The Warrior Frog and The Cherry Theft hang in my country home. Like the famous artist  Paul Klee he saw the angels - both good and bad- in the room. I don't know  if he ever learned to communicate with them as he needed to. His life expressed in many ways the drama of the gifted child.

The news of his death triggered waves of grief through me. It still does - often unexpectedly. I'm still trying to understand my own grief.  I know that grief and longing are deeply meaningful for the human soul. The experience of channeling and processing grief from other people and from former generations is very familiar to me. Part of it is a deep and private mourning for Cameron, as the person he was -as challenging as he was, for the beautiful soul that touched many, for the losses of his wife and children, parents, mentors and brothers and for the loss of what he may evolved into, had he been able to live. The other part of the grief in me that he triggered has to do with the mourning for the pain, injustices and losses of humanity that attach themselves to my personal grieving, so that they too may be released from the denial and repression of sadness that so cripples humanity. Grief uncovers the longing for a better world.

Some of us are warriors, some leaders, some lovers, some creatives.
May mourning Cameron's death prepare us all to become better more authenic individuals, powered by our integrity to become the best versions of ourselves possible.

I cannot express to you how sorry I am to hear the passing of Camerron. There are no words, just know that I am there for you if you need anything at all.
