Carolyn Morrison Friederich

November 14, 1921 - December 17, 2018 Carolyn Morrison -Friederich, (AKA Mom, Grandma, and Gma), 97 beautiful years of age. Carolyn passed away of natural causes at Sunflower Gardens Memory Care in Santa Ana on Monday, December 17, 2018. Born on November 14, 1921 in Pekin, IL to John and Gaetana Sciortino. Carolyn was married in 1948 to Dorman Morrison, from Ladoga, Indiana. They were blessed with two boys, Dennis and Guy, before Dorman's passing of cancer in 1957. Carolyn graduated from Pekin High School in Pekin, Illinois. Carolyn and her two boys moved to Costa Mesa, California in 1970 where Carolyn obtained her California real estate license and then her broker’s license as well as obtaining her AA degree. Carolyn also loved her work at Pacific Life where she worked for 13 years as an administrative secretary in Newport Beach, California. It was while in Orange County, widowed Carolyn rekindled her love for her high school sweetheart and also widower, Richard Friederich. They were married in 1983 and moved to Santa Barbara, California. Carolyn loved playing bridge and cooking, loved watching the Lakers, and most of all loved her family. She was known for her keen love for life and her contagious laugh. Carolyn is preceded in passing by her first husband, Dorman, second husband, Richard, and her siblings, Sam, Lucille, Tilly, Lee, Rose and Frank. She is survived by her two sons Dennis Morrison (wife Terri), and Guy Morrison (wife Dani), and Denny Friederich (stepson) (wife Ana) and her grandchildren. Guy and Dani’s children (three grandchildren), Anthony and Josh Morrison & Angela Reece (husband Jarrett Reece) along with Jodi Taylor (Dennis’ stepdaughter) and Jodi’s children Isaiah and Ilijah, as well as (Dennis’ stepson) Kasi Taylor and 3 children. Carolyn was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She lived a wonderful, happy, fulfilled life, and we love and miss her forever!!!
