On the morning of August 21, 2019, God called Cindy home. She fought the good fight but lost her battle to cancer at home in San Clemente, surrounded by her family. At the age of 63, she leaves behind numerous family and friends who are better off because of her influence.
Cindy was born in 1956, to Paul and Feliza Padua in Pasadena, California. She graduated from Blair High School in 1973, and attended Pasadena City College and Cal State Los Angeles.
In the summer of 1977, Cindy met her husband Michael on a volleyball court in Pasadena. Three years later they were united in Holy Matrimony. They have been inseparable ever since. In 1985 they moved to Hawaii because of Michael’s job transfer. It was in Hawaii she gave birth to her pride and joy, her son Brian. One of her last meals was her favorite Hawaiian plate of pork lau lau and lomi lomi salmon.
Cindy enjoyed working with children as a Campus Supervisor and Crossing Guard for the past 21 years in the Saddleback and Capistrano School Districts. She retired only last year.
Cindy was always on the hunt for a bargain. She enjoyed shopping at stores and online, especially QVC easy pay. Her routine was to arrive at the stores when they opened to avoid crowds, parking and the heat. She would be back by noon with her purchases and food.
Cindy enjoyed traveling the world on cruises. Her last cruise was in March 2019 along the California coast and Ensenada.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Mother and brother, Larry. She is survived by her husband, son, and numerous cousins. We know she is watching over us, just as she did for the children of our community for so many years.
