Cliff was an extraordinary community leader, executive, husband and father. It was a privilege to work with him in my role as CEO of Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center while he was Chair of the Foundation Board. 
I let him make fun of golf game for years but that was well deserved. 
He left us way to soon Cliff was a values based executive who enacted and celebrated Service, Justice, excellence and Dignity of the person in everything he did and the encounters that defined  him. He elevated the spirit of giving to a new value for the Mission Family.

We are very saddened to learn of Cliff's passing. He will truly be missed by all who knew him, and in a larger sense his passing leaves a void as there are just not enough like him. Cliff was the Chair of the Board of Mission’s Foundation when Winnie hired me to be the first Major Gifts Director in Feb. 2004. He was one of the first people I met and I remember how friendly and welcoming he was to me. During the 12 1/2 years I spent at Mission I had many opportunities to work with him and to see what a fine, respected leader he was in our community. He was always kind, ready to listen, and fun to be with! His warmth and generosity were a wonderful role model for those who followed him. We will all miss Cliff. He was just a good man.

We will miss Cliff to the moon, especially all the memories from the trips we've taken together.   This photo is just one of so many of the four of us traveling  over the years.  Here we are having ice cream cones under the Banyan tree at Lahaina, Maui.   Words cannot express the loss we feel but he will always be in our hearts. - Dense and Greg Sanford.
