After completing her college education, Diana began her career in the entertainment industry as an assistant on the Carol Burnett show. Later she found her true vocation as a teacher in Santa Ana, where she led a program close to her heart: the Teen Mother’s Program. Diana loved her students, and her students loved her. Her care for the community extended well beyond the classroom. Diana was an active committee member on the Newport Beach Parks and Recreation Council, helping to shape spaces that brought joy and beauty to others.
Diana loved the ocean. And in true Diana fashion, she didn’t just admire boats, she earned her Captain’s license, embracing adventure with confidence and skill.
In 1990 she married Lu Walker, the love of her life. Together they built a beautiful ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a place that reflected their shared dreams and values. They divided their time between the serenity of New Mexico and the coast of California.
Diana had many passions, among them, politics, music, and animals. She engaged with the world thoughtfully, spoke up when it matters, and never stopped learning and listening. Music uplifted her spirit, and animals brought her great comfort and joy, especially her dogs.
As we say goodbye to Diana, we hold tight to her memory and to the intense gratitude we feel having known her. Rest peacefully Diana. You were one of a kind. Your love lives on in all of us.
