Asghar “Esi” Rezaei

December 7th, 1954 - November 1st, 2015

Asghar “Esi” Rezaei was born December 7th, 1954 in Tehran, Iran to the late Rajab Rezaei-Galeh and Donya Rezaei-Galeh. He departed this life on November 1st, 2015 in Newport Beach at one of his most favorite places, the Equinox gym. He was survived by all of his siblings: Hassan Rezaei-Galeh, Mohammed Rezaei-Galeh, and Effat Rezaei-Galeh.

An ever brilliant and determined young man, he graduated from the esteemed University of Tehran with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980. He married the love of his life, Mojgan Rezaei, one year prior to his graduation in 1979.

Esi diligently worked as a Mechanical Engineer at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for 20 years where he was revered and respected by his fellow colleagues. In the years following his retirement he worked side by side with his wife in dutifully managing their pharmacy business.

Esi is survived by his adoring children, Dr. Ali Rezaei and Dr. Shaghayegh Rezaei and his grandchild; Nadia Kelishadi. He is also survived by his Son-in-law: Dr. Shahrooz Kelishadi and Daughter-in-law: Lila Shalchi.

Esi’s passion was to play tennis and to take pleasure in eating his favorite food; his wife’s home cooked meals. He greatly enjoyed traveling, exercising, spending his days with his wife and children, and playing with his grandchild and pet dogs.
