He is survived by his former wife Santa and their children, Bryan, Lisa and Shelly; grandchildren Eli, Ethan, Jake, Lauren and Makayla; sister Carmen Lampe Boland and her children, Patricia, Richard and Robert.
Fred’s lifelong love of tennis came from his father and sister, leading him to play varsity tennis at Tulane University. Shortly after graduation he began his international business career in Central America. His import/export experience would lead him to hold several executive positions in Illinois, Connecticut, Texas and California – including President of Moctezuma Imports, which introduced Dos Equis Lager Especial to the U.S. in the 1980s.
Fred enjoyed living life to the fullest. He was a great entertainer and loved being surrounded by family and friends. He also had a penchant for WWII history, aviation, and classic automobiles, which he shared with his son and grandsons.
Fred’s business travels would take him around the world – but he was happiest back home with his family, watching his beloved children and grandchildren grow up, hosting dear friends and relatives, and frequenting the tennis club.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, 8014 Marine Way, Irvine CA 92618 or to the USTA Foundation, 70 West Red Oak Lane, White Plains NY 10604.
