

H. Conrad Blackerby, age 76, of Newport Coast, CA died peacefully March 1, 2017. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara, his daughters Sharon Brosamer and husband Brian, Sheila Blackerby, Shea Russell and husband Jimmie. Included are his grandsons Brock and Holden Brosamer, Shanti Russell, and brother Rodney Blackerby and wife Faye and sister Glenda Smith and husband Alan.
He is a graduate of Bessemer High School, class of 1959 and Alabama College – now the University of Montavello, class of 1966. He served in the US Air Force from 1959-1963 on the Greek Island of Crete and in Edinburgh, Scotland. His business career included assistant controller at US Pipe and Foundry in Birmingham, Alabama, controller of US Home Corporation in Clearwater, Florida and VP of Harrison Industries in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1977, he moved his family to Orange County, California where he led as president and CEO of West American Rubber Company in Orange, California. This opportunity led to co-ownership of the company.
Upon his retirement in 1998, his years have been filled with new interest including travel, philanthropy, golf, collecting art and spending quality time with his family and friends. During this time he continued to be a faithful supporter of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.
His Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 10th at 10:00am at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California.
