

Howard was born on July 18, 1930 in Montreal, Canada and moved to Los Angeles California at the age of 15. His proudest accomplishments were his family, his marriage to Elaine for 68 years, his four children and 12 grandchildren and founding Universal Care in Long Beach, California. He loved his community and the team of dedicated professionals who helped him create a company with a heart to care for vulnerable populations in California. He dedicated himself to making sure that his company would care for its clients like family.
Howard served his country and was a US Army Staff Sargent and Station Officer while stationed in Yuma, Arizona where he achieved the top recruiter of the 6th Army.
He had a passion for life, civic involvement, the arts, social events, friends and family. Howard served as a Trustee to Musical Theater West and an Ambassador to the Long Beach City College Foundation.
Howard E. Davis is survived by his wife Elaine, his four children, Marc, Jeff, Jay and Laura, his twelve grandchildren Brittney, Jessie, Michael, Bradley, Kali, Emily, Amy, Drew, Matthew, Brandon, Benjamin and Hannah. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 10 am at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar California. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org or to Temple Israel of Long Beach at tilb.org
