We have the sad task of informing you that our beloved Jim DeOlden has ended his journey here on earth. May 15th, he passed over to be with his Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. We are devastated to lose the leader of our home.
Jim was an excellent husband, father and friend. He was a titan in his chosen field of microbiology. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he could dazzle anyone with a song. He will be greatly missed.
It had been decided when, James, Jim’s eldest son, passed over, that we (Jim, Gerrye, Martin and his wife Jennifer) would like for our remains to be scattered in the same place, so that we could all be together.
We, all five of us, know that our faith in Christ Jesus secures our souls in heaven; that the circle is only broken, and that we will all be together again soon. Knowing this, all of us decided to simplify our end-of-life celebrations. Jim would not want his friends and family members to go to the expense of gathering to mourn. Jim’s greatest hope is that each of his loved ones would ensure that his or her soul is right with God.
If anyone wishes to leave a donation in Jim’s name to honor his passing, his favorite charity was The Boys Republic in Chino, CA.
Sincerely,
Gerrye, Martin and Jennifer DeOlden
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gerrye DeOlden. His eldest son James Drew DeOlden predeceased him on October 24, 2021. He also leaves behind his youngest son, (Daniel) Martin DeOlden and his wife, Jennifer. He will be missed by his two grandchildren Lance DeOlden and Laird DeOlden.
