

O’Connell, James Andrew (Jim) – Jim O’Connell age 45 of Mission Viejo, CA passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Jim was born in Boston, MA on March 27, 1967. He was the youngest of four sons of Jack and Ann O’Connell. He moved with his family to California in 1971 and graduated from Tustin High School in 1985. Jim went on to graduate from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Jim and his wife Amy lived in San Francisco for 10 years where they both worked in sales and marketing. In 1999, Jim obtained a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Notre Dame College. They moved back to Southern California where he practiced as a psychotherapist at Kaiser Permanente in Lomita, Aliso Viejo and most recently in Anaheim. Jim was a devoted and loving father who enjoyed watching his kids play sports. He took great joy in helping his son, Jack develop into a great little baseball player and his daughter, Meghan become a star soccer goalie. Jim is survived by his wife Amy (Gessner), his two wonderful children Meghan (14) and Jack (8), his mother Ann and his three brothers, Jay and his wife Dawn, Matt and his wife Ana, Tom and his wife Tracey, and ten nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2 pm. at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625.
