Julie Ann Cortney (Traub) was born October 3rd 1956. Raised in Long Beach, CA, she worked as a pediatric nurse there, and then met the love of her life, Mike Cortney, at a poker table in Las Vegas. They married in 1980, settled in Irvine, moved to Northern California for Mike's work, and eventually lived in both Blackhawk and Newport Beach because she had a hard time choosing which she liked better. Julie Cortney liked having choices. Known for her extreme generosity towards both family and friends, she judged things based on value rather than price. She loved playing games that required strategy & skill – which she usually won – but her favorite pastime was playing practical jokes on her spouse. She was also passionate about the color purple. We will all miss her extraordinary sparkle, as we each remember her in our own special way.
A gathering for Julia will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Pacific View Mortuary & Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, California 92625.
