Junichi "Jay" Kitasumi was born on March 21, 1989 in Monterey, CA. While he loved sports, the ocean, and the great outdoors, Jay's biggest impact was in his community. He was loved and known by everyone around him. Jay never met a stranger and had an ability to make every person he met feel special. He loved greeting friends, family, and acquaintances with his smile, and spent his time playing sports, volunteering, and working at his restaurant, where he made sure everyone who entered felt like family.
Remembered for his kindness and captivating energy, it's no wonder that Jay was able to bring so much joy into people's lives. He was extremely loyal to his friends and poured so much love into the relationships he cherished. He was devoted to whatever he set his mind on, and even when hardships came into his life, Jay always handled them with strength.
Jay Kitasumi passed away on May 14, 2021 in Costa Mesa, CA. He is survived by his parents, Kenji and Mayumi Kitasumi, and his brother Roy Kitasumi. Jay was devoted to the Lord and has found his place with the angels, where he will continue to watch over us with that signature winning smile.
