She was born October 13, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. The daughter of the late, Francisco “Frank” and Maria “Mini” Garcia Maiques and was raised by Antonio “Tony” Maiques.
She was a devoted homemaker and raising her children was one of her greatest joys. Later in life, she worked for the Huntington Beach Union High School district doing various administrative and secretarial jobs, retiring in 1993 at the age of 65.
Proceeded in death by her one and only true love Louis Joseph Uranga, whom she married on June 19, 1948.
She is survived by her two children; daughter Charlene and son Dan. She has three granddaughters; Julie, Lindsay and Brianne. She has four grandsons; Darren, Aron, Cole and Evan. There are also eight great grandchildren; Nick, Hailey, Tanner, Christian, Cohen, Tucker, Taylor and Pressley.
Our beloved Mama had a heart of gold. It was evident throughout her entire life how important her family meant to her. We are forever grateful to be a part of her legacy that will continue to live on for generations to come. To know this gracious lady, was to love her.
A private family celebration of her life will be held at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California.
