Bob was born Aug 25, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Donald and Roberta Range. They moved to Tulsa Oklahoma in 1942.
During visits as a boy and young man Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandfather working in the gladiola fields and vegetable gardens that he grew. This started a lifelong passion for flowers and plants. As a young man, Bob was an active amateur radio operator regularly communicating with many people around the globe.
Bob graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1959 and he graduated from Missouri School of Mines in Rolla Missouri in 1964 as an electrical engineer. Shortly after graduating he moved to Woodward Oklahoma where he was blessed with his first daughter Robin and began his first career with Schlumberger Well Services. There he continued his amateur radio hobby and started drag racing in the Oklahoma and Texas surrounding areas. He was transferred to Shreveport Louisiana by Schlumberger in 1968 where he continued his hobbies. In 1972 he was transferred to Fort Meyers Florida where his interests shifted to maintaining fish aquariums, sailing in the Gulf on catamarans and gardening. In 1978 he was transferred to Lake Charles Louisiana where his second daughter Robecca was born. In Lake Charles, he continued his gardening, sailing dreams, and worked on off shore oil rigs.
In 1984 Bob and Dianne were married, merging their two families together into one large family. They have enjoyed 31 years of marriage and have shared over 40 wonderful years of loving memories. In 1986 they were transferred to California living in Huntington Beach. Bob retired from Schlumberger in 1987 after 22 years. He worked short stints in the electrical auto wire wrap business and for a recycling company maintaining and designing reverse vending machines throughout the state of California. In 1998 he joined Disneyland managing a crew that maintained rides until his death. While in California he enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and even feeding the neighborhood hummingbirds. Throughout his life he enjoyed going to concerts and mostly spending time with his family. While working in the different areas of the country, he amassed many friends, keeping in touch with many as he was a down to earth, open, compassionate, loving man.
