Bob Raus died in his home in Newport Beach, California at the age of 91 years on June 6, 2019 from congestive heart failure. Robert Elmer Raus was born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Elmer and Myrtle. He embarked to coastal California with his new wife, Norma, in 1958 as their honeymoon, and, fortunately, they stayed. They had five children together and Bob and Norma remained married until the time of his death, over 60 years. Bob worked as a union electrician, enjoyed watching horse racing and sporting events (especially his Ohio State Buckeyes), and most of all, loved being around family. He was a talented baseball player, bowler and recreational golfer. He served our country in the US Army. He is survived by his sister, Janice Robinson, wife, Norma, five children and 11 grandchildren: Bret (children Matthew, Vance, Wolf, Mary), Mark (wife, Anita, children Anthony and Luke), Nicole Chapman (husband, Scott, children Geoffrey and Katie), Michele (children Eric, Austin, and Chloe), and Georganne Novak (partner Shelly Neal), and extended family too numerous to count. His brother, Richard, and sister, Eleanor, predeceased him. Bob was known for his family values, story telling, and dependability. Many will miss him. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 2pm at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church at 1964 Orange Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92627.
