Sharon Skenderian passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2025. Sharon was born on February 23, 1941 at The Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, to John and Gayle Nouskajian of Pasadena. After spending a brief period living in New York and Texas, the family moved back to Pasadena where she was raised along with her younger brothers Gary and John Jr.
Sharon graduated from Pasadena High School in 1958 and briefly attended San Jose State University, eventually returning to Pasadena to work for Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she met Vahan Skenderian Jr. They married on August 4, 1962 at the St. James United Methodist Church in Pasadena and she worked to support the family while Vahan completed his schooling at Cal Poly Pomona.
Wanting a better environment for her family, she moved the family from Arcadia to Long Beach in 1974, where she lived for the next 46 years, raising her three children, Nancy, Todd and Jay. Sharon and Vahan eventually moved to Rancho Mission Viejo where they could be closer to their children and grandchildren. Sharon’s passions and interests were largely her family and her grandkid’s activities, which she always put first.
Her life will be forever remembered by her husband Vahan, daughter Nancy (Todd) Montgomery, sons Todd (Liz) and Jay (Amy), and her 5 grandchildren Brad, Ashley, Lena, Nathan and Travis.
Sharon will be laid to rest at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar.
In her memory, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, (kindly note: a direct link for memorial contributions has been provided below under the donations tab).
