Anita Chavez Barrera

She was born on February 11, 1939 to her parents Catarino and Mercedes Del La Rosa Chavez in Tivoli, Texas.

Anita enjoyed gardening, dancing, bingo, and cooking.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Catarino and Mercedes; brothers, Roman Chavez, Adolfo Chavez, Jose Angel Chavez Alfredo Chavez, Roberto Chavez; Sister, Alejandra Chavez Gonzales (Jose); son, Rodolfo “Rudy” Barrera.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Epifanio V. Barrera; sons, Rogelio Barrera, Ricardo Barrera; daughter, Norma Barrera; grandchildren, Benjamin Barrera, Gina Barrera; sister Amelia Chavez Cavazos (+Juan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Anita will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. A holy rosary will occur Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 549 Cheyenne St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 540 Hiawatha St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. An interment will occur Friday, April 29, 2022 at 3:15 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
