

Benjamin Reyes Abalos, Sr. 79, passed away on July 1, 2013. He was born in the Philippines on December 8, 1933 to Venancio Abalos and Maximina Reyes Abalos.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era with honor and dignity. Benjamin was a kind and loving person who devoted much time to his wife, church and family. To all his family members, he was considered a big brother, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Aurora Abalos of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Aurora “Baby” (Nathaniel Green) Abalos of Burke, Virginia; son, Benjamin (Muriel) Abalos, Jr. of Corpus Christi; daughter, Almira (Marlo) Gonzales of Corpus Christi; son, Benoni Abalos of Corpus Christi; daughter, Charina Abalos of Fort Worth, Texas; Grandchildren, Gino Abalos, Shane Abalos, Angelica (Matthieu) Soliz, Ryan Abalos, Glenn (Margaret) Abalos, Kyle Abalos, Chloe Abalos, Landon Abalos, John Abalos-Green, Aaron Abalos-Green, Liam Abalos- Fuller, Madeline Abalos- Fuller. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. There will be a Rosary recited at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with a mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery. “Fair winds and following seas, Ben.”
