Benjamin Dale Garza

Benjamin Dale Garza passed away on October 17, 2017 at the age of 44. He was born on April 8, 1973 to the late Benjamin T. and Julia Garza. He was a loving son and brother. Benjamin was an avid artist who enjoyed painting masterpieces and cooking. Benji had a love for music and art. He enjoyed nature especially being close to the water. He loved fishing and skim water boarding. Benji was a lead guitarist in a local heavy metal band before his illness and an artist who enjoyed drawing abstract art. He attended Del Mar College where he studied guitar and art. Benji was also a wonderful athlete and excelled in baseball in football. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tomas Balderas. Benjamin is survived by his siblings, Rita Balderas, Pablo Balderas, Rosa Balderas, Elena Cantu (Ruben), Larry Garza (Elisa), Patricia Reyes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd. on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Family will gather St. Peter Prince of The Apostle on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. At the family’s request, attendees please dress in the Dallas Cowboys attire or color in honor of Benjamin’s favorite team.
