She was born in Freer, Texas to the late Jose and Olivia Mireles.
Berta is preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Reyes, Sr. and a son, Jose A. Reyes, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Maria (Ruben) Gonzalez, Danny Reyes, Linda (Philip) Cuellar, Ruben Reyes, Richard Reyes and Norma (Julian) Barrera. Also surviving are her 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; one brother, Rodolfo Mireles ; one sister, Ninfa Vela and numerous nieces , nephews and extended family members.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral . Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
