Betty Mae Carpenter, 77, passed away April 3, 2016. She was born on September 20, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to George and Inez Toland and was the next to youngest of 4 siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin R. Carpenter and eldest daughter, Patti Neville.
She is survived by 4 sons, Franklin Jr., Steven, David, Scott and his wife Becky, as well as 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Betty was a devout Catholic and served for many years at St. Paul's Church in Flour Bluff. She had a lifelong love of music and collected records since she was a teenager. She was also an animal lover and always surrounded herself with numerous pets. Betty was a very giving and loving person and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7th at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Flour Bluff. Graveside services will immediately follow the Mass at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local no-kill animal shelter in her name.
