

She was born in Lamesa, Texas on October 11, 1930. She was married to Leroy Salter on August 25, 1948. They were married for 66 years until his death in 2014. She worked for J.C. Penney for many years as a bookkeeper.
Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Altar Guild. She was a creative person. She loved to paint and there are many of her paintings hanging in her home. Several of her paintings have won awards. She also loved to work with ceramics, but her first love was traveling around the country with Leroy. They had many adventures, which included traveling to Alaska in their motorhome 4 times. She brought rocks home from their travels and made a flower bed from them.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, Ocie Webb; mother, Velma Gladys Matlock Webb; and sister Barbara Hotte.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Ted) Higgins, and Beverly (John) McNeill. Grandchildren include, Rick (Amy) Biel, Beau James McNeill, Nicole (Toro) Trevino, Jeremiah (Kitt) Biel, Aaron Biel, Jacqueline (Brian) Barron, Sarah Biel, and James (Julie) Biel; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on May 3rd at 2:00 pm with public visitation beginning at 12:30 pm.
