

He was born in Aransas Pass, Texas, on April 12, 1925 to Chester F. and Mary Ellen Lambert, both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were a son, Stephen B. Lambert, one brother, Clarence Lambert, two sisters, Marie Lambert Smith and Doris Lambert Jones.
Except for a stint in the Navy during WWII, Chester spent all of his life in Texas. He was a hardworking, ambitious iron worker in construction, who strove to be a general contractor. His first venture was a partnership, then he started Chester Lambert Construction Co., Inc., which he operated for 27 years until he retired. He loved sports of all kinds most especially hunting and fishing. When not pursuing those interests, he was playing golf at the Pharaoh Country Club. He was active in Associated General Contractors and Revelaiers Dance Club, as well as Navy League and C.C. Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include one son, Donald Lee Lambert, four grandsons; Derek Lambert and wife Xiomara, Brian Lambert and wife Stacy, Christopher Lambert and wife Janell, and Avery Lambert, one granddaughter, Ashley Wise and husband Rob, ten great grandchildren, plus numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cage-Mills Funeral Home, 4901 Everhart Road. Service will be held at Cage-Mills Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, officiated by Rev. Billy Storms, interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
