Clara Alberta Bullard

Clara Bullard, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2024, at Garden Estates in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born in Caldwell, Kansas, to Alberta and Roy Builta on August 16, 1935, with the family eventually settling in Kerrville, Texas. Clara’s mother taught her to sew and she quickly became an expert, earning extra money during high school by making clothes for several of the local society ladies. Clara also excelled in music and at the age of 14 played in a piano recital. She attended Business School in San Antonio, and eventually settled in Corpus Christi, where she worked as the Secretary to the County Tax Collector for over 30 years.

She also had an adventurous side and was spotted riding a motorcycle to work and even hanging siding! Clara loved sewing and made most of her own clothes, plus took on projects to make wedding dresses, Missionette outfits, and countless other projects. Then in 1978, she married the love of her life (Bobby Joe). Together they went on RV travels with her parents or took some of their grandkids on a trip. She also enjoyed gardening and had a patio full of plants.

Clara loved her church, Gateway Christian Center, and gave of herself in various ways for over 40 years. During this time, she served as the church pianist, church secretary, and she worked with several women’s ministries, in addition to being an inspiration to many girls as director of the Missionette program. Clara had grandchildren everywhere, adopting many that needed a guiding hand.

Clara is predeceased by her husband, Bobby J Bullard, and her son, Gary F Robbins. She is survived by her son Don Robbins, daughter Linda (Tim) Harshman of Portland, Oregon, son Bobby L (Gina) Bullard of Corpus Christi, Texas and Grandchildren: Zach Robbins of Naples, FL, Samantha Robbins of Denver, CO, Bryan (Ann Marie) Bullard of Odessa, TX, Kayla Castleberry of Vancouver, WA, Ty Bullard of Bastrop, TX, Jenny (Matt) English of Kelso, WA, Kaylah Bullard of Corpus Christi, TX, Cassie (Rene) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, TX and 12 great-grandchildren.

Special Thanks go out to Shelly Gerber, Shanna Stockstill, and their great care team at Garden Estates. The care and love they showed her every day, made Clara’s last year a wonderful experience.

A visitation for Clara will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX. A welcoming guest will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 9:00 AM, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX. A chapel service will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 9:30 AM, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas. An entombment will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
