

Cornelio was a Veteran of World War II and a recipient of two purple hearts. He retired from Corn Products after 32 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working outdoors and doing manual labor. (Landscaping, planting and feeding the animals) He was very involved in numerous activities with his children and grandchildren. He loved to sing, played the harmonica and guitar and he enjoyed serving the Lord at his Church with his wife Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ester Garcia Lugo, a son, Leonel Jose Lugo and a daughter, Juanita Rosita Elizondo and two grandsons and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his present wife Elizabeth Uribe Lugo, two sons; Carlos Cornelio (Francis) Lugo, Adan (Rose) Lugo, four daughters; Yomedia Manry, Eloisa “Lois” (Anastacio) Hernandez, Ester (Daniel) Stoy Stretch, Emilia (Oscar) Ovallez, three sisters, two brothers, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitations will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne Street, on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Primera Iglesia Bautista on Tarlton Street, with internment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
