Daniel Calzado Garms, a lifelong gearhead/mechanic, resident of Sandia,Texas, passed away unexpectedly August 28th, 2024 at the age of 52. He was visiting his mother, and passed away at her home in (Flour Bluff) Corpus Christi, Texas.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Dolores Calzado Garms; siblings, Marie Calzado Garms, Richard Earl Garms Jr., and Terisa Garms; nephews, Mason Wayne Goldapp, and Stone Evan Jones; and niece, Miranda Marie Goldapp. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. Daniel will be sorely missed...
Daniel was born on February 1st, 1972 in Olongapo City, Philippines, and moved to Gatesville, Texas on our family's farm in 1978 with our father, (Richard Earl Garms Sr.~May he rest in peace~), our mother, and our sister.
In the early 80's we moved to (Flour Bluff) Corpus Christi, Texas, and we planted our roots. This is where he started to become the man everyone came to know and love. He found a love for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and enjoyed working on them. Started lifelong friendships, and continued to try to stay close to his loved ones. He went from skateboarding in his youth, to riding horses in his late teens, to riding motorcycles in his prime. Daniel's complex mind had a fascination with the universe, dinosaurs, ancient history, and stargazing. He enjoyed being outdoors in nature, and hanging out around a good fire. He definitely had a love for music of all kinds, playing on his keyboard, and singing karaoke.
Daniel loved making everyone laugh, cracked jokes, and played pranks on the best of us. We loved him even more for it. Daniel loved with all he had, and gave his all to those he loved. We'll miss all his shenanigans, and all the love he shared. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and it didn't matter if it was a friend, family, or a stranger. He'd go out of his way to do what he could to help someone, simply out of the kindness of his heart. Never expecting anything in return. His carefree spirit always living his life in the moment. Daniel had a kind loving heart, was as tough as an ox, strong, noble, true to himself, and had a good soul. He will always be loved, and dearly missed. He will never be forgotten...
