

Mr. Serrato loved music and spending time with his family. He also played the “Bajo Sexto” for many years. He was owner of Dan’s Paint and Body Shop for 30 years and retired in 1995.
He is preceded in death by his Ist wife of 4 years, Esther Hinojosa Serrato; son Daniel Serrato III; his 2nd wife of 62 years, Dolores M. Serrato; daughter San Juanita Serrato; his parents Estela and Daniel, four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his children: Irma Salazar (Raul), Daniel Serrato Jr. (Connie), Delia M. Serrato, Adela Jimenez (Noe), Luis Serrato (Yolanda), Estela Contreras (John), Albert Serrato (Veronica), Rosalinda Lopez (Larry). Mr. Serrato also leaves behind to cherish his memories: 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel -549 Cheyenne St. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
