David was a Korean War Veteran, serving from 1951 to 1953. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-great grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by four daughters, Corrina Stokes, Gracie Scheverman, Sandra (Ben) Contreras, Mable (Jimmy Lee) Beltran; four sons, David Benavides Jr., Rudy Benavides, Randy (Selina) Benavides and David Lee (Joanna) Benavides; sisters, Delia Ramirez, Mrs. Dalia Olivarez and Bea Garza and brother, Lupe Benavides. David is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
