Dawn Kathleen Cherry

Age 66, longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2022 at Pam Rehabilitation Hospital after a brief illness.

Dawn was born in Albany, NY on May 20, 1955. After high-school, she enlisted in the US Navy. Dawn was honorably discharged and was incredibly proud of serving her country. She received numerous awards and accomplishments while in the Navy, continuing her education, and throughout her career. After her service, she went on to work at the VA as a medical Technician until her recent retirement.

Dawn was happiest when she was around animals, especially her beloved dog Snickers, or by the way she introduced him, Snickers Here!, and her cats; Sassi, Cali, Oreo, and Little Cat.

She also loved spending time in Port. Aransas, TX. She would often go to Port. A to watch the dolphins, and the Giant ships coming in. Thanks to Dawn, we all know what a cute hand made Bollard Buddie looks like. She loved it there.

Long ago, Dawn was predeceased by her mother, Melodee Francis Zimmerman (Murphy); her grandparents Mable and George Zimmerman, and her brothers Michael and Mark Zimmerman.

Survivors include her brothers; Daniel, Paul, Jimmy, Glen, Shawn, Karl, George, Lance, and Leonard. Her sisters; Laurel, Tara, Christine, Rhonda, and Cathy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Doctor Yvonne Hinojosa MD, and Dawn's friends Marty, Ida, and Rose for their help and support during this difficult time.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date, we will update Dawn's Facebook as well as the funeral home with service info.

In Lieu of flowers, Donations in Dawn's name can be made to Paws Shelter of Central Texas.
