

Our beloved mother, Delia H. Flores, passed away in peace and grace on May 22, 2016 at the age of 86. She was a 1949 graduate of Corpus Christi High School. She volunteered in political elections and loved to read to children in elementary school. She was a strong woman having survived two major surgeries a year apart. She was an excellent cook and dedicated her life as CEO of the family. She was a giving and selfless person. She was proud of her children and loved and cherished her grandchildren. Her faith and love in the Lord was strong. Delia was well loved by all who knew her; especially her family who loved her, adored her and stayed by her side throughout her journey until the end.
We were blessed to have her as our mother and she will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We will always carry her in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Manuela Hernandez; two brothers, Abelardo and Roman Hernandez Jr. and two children, Patricia Flores and Alejandro Flores.
Delia is survived by her husband, Jose S. Flores Sr. of 58 years of marriage; children, all of Corpus Christi, Jose S. Flores Jr., Yolanda Garcia (Joel), Sylvia Mulinix (Tim) and Nelda Silva (Anthony); six grandchildren, Patricia, Gabriel, Clarissa, Katherine, Marcus and Sarah; sisters, Maria DeLuna and Aurora Pulido and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
