

Dora De Los Santos Mesa died peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2015 and entered God’s heavenly kingdom to join her loved ones. Dora was born April 1, 1927 in Bluntzer, Texas, the daughter of Juan and Maria De Los Santos.
Dora was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will forever be remembered as a special and caring person to all those whose lives she touched with her love and compassion.
Dora loved to help the elderly and sick and spent a great deal of her later years caring for many with her homemade hot meals and her companionship. She enjoyed listening to music and reading into the night. Her grandchildren loved spending summers at “Grandma Dora’s.”
In 1948, she married the love of her life, Ignacio “Nacho” Mesa, and raised their family in Corpus Christi. They were married for 65 years.
Dora was predeceased by her parents, Juan and Maria De Los Santos; husband, Ignacio; brothers, Juan, Eugenio, Arturo, and Pete De Los Santos; and sister, Florence Canales; half-brothers, Miguel and Jesus Aguilar.
Dora is survived by her daughters, Dell Rennie, Diana (Richard) Sackin, Candy (David) Eller; son, Alfred (Kim) Mesa; adopted son, Paul Nguyen; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Ramirez, Carla Baron, Ryan Robert Salinas, Erika Sackin, and Katelyn Bernal; and 7 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Lindsey, Kade, Kyra, Aiden, Emma and Ellie.
She is also survived by her sister, Maggie (Ike) Salinas and brothers, Romolo (Deanna) De Los Santos and Ray De Los Santos (Mary Ann).
The family wishes to extend their sincerest heartfelt thank you to one of Dora’s closest companions, Benita Chavez, who gave her endless hours of special care. Also, Esther Collins, who also cared for Dora and took her to Sunday mass as often as possible. The family is forever grateful to these two ladies and many others who cared for her at Spanish Meadows.

Private services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at Memory Gardens, Corpus Christi, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Spanish Meadows, 1480 Katy Flewellen Road, Katy Texas 77494-6631.
