Dora P. Sanchez, 82, entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1942, in Taft, Texas, to her devoted parents, Alfredo A. and Juanita P. Sanchez. Dora began her early education in her hometown of Taft and carried with her the values of family, hard work, and resilience throughout her life.
Dora spent many years in San Jose, California, where she worked as a cook and built a life surrounded by friends and community. Known for her warm spirit and joyful presence, she was a beloved friend to many and always left a lasting impression on those around her.
Family was everything to Dora. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, especially during treasured casino trips and family loteria nights in Skidmore, Texas. Even in her final days, she was filled with that same spark, asking her daughter, Rocky, and her sisters if they were ready to “hit the road” for another round of Loteria. That cherished moment will remain in her family's hearts forever.
Dora’s life was centered around love, especially for her children, Dora “Rocky” Marie Sanchez and Jose Eleno “Eddie” Sanchez, whom she adored with all her heart. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Delia S. Arismendiz (the late Genaro) and Maria Elva Rodriguez (the late Ernest), along with her five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews across Texas, California, and New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sisters Minerva S. Olguin (the late Richard) and Estella S. Soliz (the late Rey), and her brother Alfredo P. Sanchez (the late Yolanda).
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the relatives and friends who visited Dora during her illness. A special thank you goes to the members of Boundless Love Fellowship for their comforting prayers and beautiful hymns, and to Del Cielo Hospice for their compassionate and professional care. The family is especially grateful to her sisters, Delia and Elva, for their unwavering love and support of their niece, Rocky, during this difficult time.
Dora will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone lucky enough to know her. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
