Dorothy also enjoyed her years working in the office at Carroll High School as well as the 20+ years in the real estate business. She was very active in the Garden Club, her church & planning committee of many reunions for the "Fabulous Forties" of CCHS.
Along with her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William F. Schroeder, Jr. She is survived by her three daughters: Karen (Coy) Reece of Montgomery, TX, Dr. Pamela (Dr. Marvin) Prewitt of Corpus Christi, and Patricia (Bob) Mitchell of George West, TX. D-Dot is also survived by her four grandchildren: Tommy (Angie) Mitchell, Toy (Dennis) LeVasseur, Brett Mitchell, and Nicki (Toby) Murray. She had 8 great grandchildren: Aubree', Dyson, Ranee', Murray, Tobias, Hudson, Charley Marie, and Emma Grace. She had one great-great grandson, Grady Coy. Other survivors are: her sister-in-law, Marion Schroeder, sister-in-law, Margaret (David) Levy, and brother-in-law, Vic (Dawn) Haney as well as many special nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Angel Bright Hospice, all the special caregivers - especially Trease Fullingim, who has truly been a God-send to Dorothy and the family. Also, they would like to thank Rita Flores who "fixed" her hair for 50+ years with special loving care.
