It’s a great deal of sadness and deep sense of loss; we announce the passing of Dwaina Sue Malek. She left this world peacefully Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on July 14, 1943, to the late Jack and Nancy Tate.
On July 19, 1963, she married her soul mate, Frank Malek, and together they built a strong and enduring partnership that spanned 62 wonderful years. Their marriage was a true testament of loyalty, patients and shared dreams. Together, they welcomed five children, each of whom was raised with the same unwavering love and values that defined Sue’s life
Though she may no longer walk beside us Sue’s love, lessons, and legacy will remain with us always. We find comfort in knowing that her beautiful soul is now at peace and continues through each life she has touched.
Sue’s passion was traveling around the world and watching Frank shoot Skeet along the way. She loved to sit and watch him as he followed his passion. She also enjoyed the time that she could spend with her family and friends.
As a mother, Sue wore many hats, she helped the girls with schoolwork, she was a taxi, taking the girls to all of their extracurricular activities, she made sure they had everything they needed. She taught the girls how to clean, cook dinner, laundry and do everything else that you would need to do to succeed in life. Sue was not like most of the girls friend’s mothers; she taught them that hard work just was not a man’s place. She taught them to stand side-by-side with their man as she did with Frank. The girls knew how to build fence, work cows, change the oil and tires on their own vehicles. Sue loved to hunt and fish. She encouraged all the girls to hunt and learn to process deer, dove, quail or whatever they may be hunting.
Sue took care of the four girls until they were all at school age and at that point, she went to work for Malek Inc part time. As the girls got older and the business grew stronger Sue went full time with Malek Inc. as an accountant and office manager. This only made Sue’s life busier, as she was still a full-time mom.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jack and Nancy Tate, her sister Pat Thrash, her first daughter, Pamela Malek and her third daughter, Theresa Morehouse.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Malek, her children Trudy Williams (Tim), Tracy Daughtry (David) and Tammy Atwood (Geoff). Twelve grandchildren, Lauryn, Alex and Matthew Williams; William, Chase (Andrea) and Jade Morehouse; Tiffany, Ethan and Rylee Daughtry, Morgan Gaspar (Rowdy); Devin (Jessica) and Reese Atwood. Great grandchildren, Lily, Carter and Cage Gaspar, Cole Collard and James Brandon (due in January).
Services will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Tx on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm. Burial will be immediately following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
