Eloy Guadalupe Cavazos crossed the veil January 27, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 74. Eloy was born in Roma, Texas to Sofia and Fidel Cavazos and has roots in Benavides. He was married to Elia Garcia Cavazos for 35 years.
Eloy was a family man. He loved nothing more than to be surrounded by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching them the value of hard work, mechanics, maintenance, and self reliance. He had amazing patience with all the children in his family. He not only taught, but he led by example. He loved and served every member of his family until his last day.
His love was not limited to family, he was a great friend. He never met a stranger! He loved his neighbors in Petronila, his co-workers at Celanese and all his family’s friends. To him, everyone was family.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, operating heavy machinery and working on engines in the garage. He was not just a hard worker, he was so much fun. He loved to gamble, travel, barbeque, dance and he loved to joke. He never missed an opportunity to pull off a brilliant prank!!
Eloy is survived by his wife, Elia; sons, David (Hortencia), Oscar Rene (Michelle), Steven (Cassandra), and Israel “Rale” (Nora); and daughters, Nancy Ramon (Joey), Laura Garcia (Mario) and Meredith Parras (Lionel). He had 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.
