Elvira Alegria Garcia

Elvira was married to Romeo B. Garcia Sr. since January 1969. She was a mother of six children and a beloved grandmother to six grandchildren. She was a loving sister and an aunt to several nieces and nephews. All who knew and loved her will miss her dearly.

She had a career working at the Corpus Christi State School where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2006. She was also a foster mom for several years.

She had a love for shopping and will be greatly missed by the staff at her favorite store Dillard’s.

Elvira loved to travel, especially to Oregon and California to visit her family and shop at some of her favorite stores. One of her greatest memories and happiest of times were the many trips she took to Disneyland with all of her family. She also loved to decorate for the holidays, especially Christmas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Romeo B. Garcia; her son, Rene and her daughter, Monica. She is survived by her children, Veronica (Geoff) Olsen, Romeo (Nora) Garcia Jr., Tiffany (Chris) Nichols, Stephanie Garcia; grandchildren, Ryan Olsen, Courtney Olsen, Romeo Garcia III, Victoria Garcia, Isabelle Garcia, and Benjamin Garcia; her sisters, Yolanda Valdez, Alma Santos, and Ana Gonzalez; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive condolences at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, TX on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 5:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
