Elvira G. Ponce, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend was called to her heavenly home on August 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 8, 1933 in Falfurrias, TX to the late Felipe and Fabiana Gonzalez.

She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Santos Garcia (Joe), Consuelo Reyes (Pablo), brothers, Desidoro Gonzalez, Octavio Gonzales (Francisca), Pablo Gonzalez (Maruca), Carlos Gonzalez (Lucy) and Manuel Gonzalez.

Elvira is survived by her daughters, Viviana “Beaver” Rodriquez, Catalina Salinas and Cynthia Ayala (Joe); sons, Antonio Vargas and Alejandro Ponce; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Chapel Services will be held at

Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
