Elvira Castro Rivera

Elvira C. Rivera, 84, peacefully returned home to the Lord early Sunday, December 17, 2017. Elvira was born August 12, 1933 to the late Jose Angel and Guadalupe A. Castro. She lived in Corpus Christi all her life where she met her late husband of 44 years, Ferman M. Rivera.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Arrizubieta and daughter, Mary Rivera.

Elvira is survived by her three sons, Ferman C. (Anna E.) Rivera of Corpus Christi, Fernando C. (Martha) Rivera of San Antonio, and Fabian (Anna M.) Rivera of Corpus Christi; one brother, Roberto (Ilona) Castro of Hiltonhead, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Ferman G. Rivera, Fernando G. Rivera, Melissa April Rivera, Fabian Rivera Jr., Alissa Elaine Rivera, Ryan Michael Rivera, and two great-granddaughters, Madelynn Jade Rivera and Lillyanna Rose Reyes.

The immediate family will be receiving family and friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX.

Elvira will be laid to rest at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, with a reception to follow interment at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church Parish Hall.

Pallbearers will be Ferman G. Rivera, Fernando G. Rivera, Melissa April Rivera, Fabian Rivera Jr., Alissa Elaine Rivera and Ryan Michael Rivera.
