She graduated from Benavides High School in the year 1945 and worked at the local drug store, where she met the love of her life, Frank Stockwell. They married and raised five children together (Richard, Priscilla, JP, Mac, and Jean). Family was everything to Emma. She was a true matriarch. The bond she held with her children and grandchildren was very special. She always looked forward to family gatherings filled with love, laughter, and food. Occasionally, she enjoyed going out for lunch and having a margarita on the rocks, followed by antiquing with her friends. She was always looking for hidden gems for her home. She loved decorating with her favorite colors (mauve, purple, pink, and lavender) and especially loved using florals. Cooking was another passion. She always offered food to anyone who entered her home. Her recipes came from the heart and were prepared with so much love. We will forever cherish the memories of her planning a meal or sharing a recipe. Whether she was baking a pie, or making tamales, she always did so with a beautiful smile on her face. Her contagious laugh and sense of humor will forever remain in our hearts. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Macario and Mirtala; husband, Frank M. Stockwell; siblings, Armando, Ramiro, Benito, Lydia, and Aurora; children, JP and Priscilla; and grandchildren, Michelle, Jason, and Michael Paul.
