

He is preceded in death by his father, Encarnacion Villanueva, Sr.; his mother, Paula Hinojosa Villanueva and his sisters, Dolores Dalton, Angelita Rodriguez and Emily Aguire.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Villanueva after 60 years of marriage; his brother, Ralph Villanueva; his children, Sal Villanueva (Cheryl), Paula Hernandez (Raul) and Eddie Villanueva, Jr. (Nancy). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tristan Hernandez, Erika Post (Jonathan), Madelyn Villanueva (Daniel), Sean Villanueva and Katrina Villanueva and his great-grandchild, Daniel Smith, Jr. He also leaves behind many, many family members, cousins, nephews, nieces and many, many adopted children by heart. (You know who you are).
Eddie was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX and grew up on the corner of Coke St. and Leopard St. He was known to have a “PH.D of Salesmanship”. He had numerous jobs in sales and owned several businesses in Corpus Christi and retired from Butter Krust Bakery. His last business venture was Eddie’s Bakery and Restaurant on Kostoryz, where he retired in 2002.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park.
A reception will follow the funeral services at Premier High School on the grounds of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where the family invites everyone who can attend.
