He was a safety director for OSHA before his retirement. Zeke was a life member of the VFW Post 3904. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing guitar and singing country music.

Zeke was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Aurora Martinez and sister, Gracie Aranda. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Belinda Martinez; three children, Kevin Kesinger (Monica), Reece Martinez (Stormy) and Lisa Martinez (Jose); brothers, Antonio Martinez, Jr., Alfredo Martinez (Eva) and Jose Martinez; sisters, Yolanda Lopez (Ruben) and Gloria Martinez; eight grandchildren; Texas, Dusty, Johnathan, Cebastian, Jeremiah, Christian, Savannah, and Jose, III; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Zeke will be remembered for his passion and love of his family, the Dallas Cowboys, his sense of humor, his love of music and love of dancing. His favorite saying to those he loved, “I love you more than rice and beans…and sometimes tortillas.”

“I’m Free” Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wanted me now; He set me free.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Funeral Services at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Dear Dad:
It was an honor to be part of your life in the 3 years me and Lisa have been together. I will always cherish all the good times we had together. I will honor you by taking care of your daughter and make her my wife one day and a mother one day. Say hi to my mama and daddy up there in heaven. Love you old man

I am sorry for the loss of your loved one in death, and our Creator is as well. In His original purpose for humanity there was no death, so he promptly made arrangements to give us a wonderful hope that "there will be a resurrection" (Acts 24:15). May our Jehovah God give you the strength to bear your sadness, while we wait for the day when we can embrace and enjoy again the company of our loved ones.
